Welcome back to another issue of the DePIN Hub newsletter!
It’s been another big week in DePIN and we’re amped to share everything we’ve been looking at back here at the Hub.
Not only are we unveiling more resources that you can use to get involved, but we’ll also talk about the biggest signs we’ve seen so far that DePIN is going mainstream in a very big way.
This is all packaged neatly with our usual offerings of new projects to check out, and a few deals that might help you to get involved and start earning today.
So dive in and join us - let’s “deepen” our understanding together.

Helium Mobile Launches

One story overshadowed all others in the DePIN press this week, and that was the announcement of Helium Mobile. Helium - a foundational DePIN project - has historically rewarded users for operating its decentralized IoT network. In fact, we’re proud to say that Hotspotty’s claim to fame was helping them get this network off the ground! Now they’ve upped the ante and we’re watching the world change in real time as a result. 👏
Late last week, the company announced a new 5G mobile network that it’s expanding all across the United States. The plan is $20/month, it comes with unlimited data. To fully grasp the magnitude of this, note that the average American spends $157 a month on their phone plan! And if the savings weren't enough, a portion of the money goes back into the pockets of the network’s node operators. This could mean you. 👇

It’s hard to overstate what a big deal this is. Our basic thesis is that DePIN isn’t just a subsection of crypto, it’s the springboard by which tokenized networks will extend beyond the financial world and into every other industry. So if Bitcoin brought freedom and equity to the world by liberating money from centralized control, DePIN will liberate the infrastructure that underpins our daily lives and put it back into our own hands. Soon, AT&T won’t own our wireless networks. Verizon won’t own them. WE will. And that is the DePIN revolution in a nutshell. ✊

Helium’s native token, HNT, saw a quick 100% gain over the next day or two 🚀, up 400% from its low earlier this year. It’s hard not to be enticed by numbers like this, and you have to wonder - is there any kind of resource you could use to find out about this type of project before it does a casual 5x? 🤔
Well, we might have just the thing…
Introducing DePIN Hub 🤩
At long last, we’re proud to announce the flagship product of the grand DePIN Hub experiment. It’s called…well, DePIN Hub! 🚀 🙌

Today we unveil our official website . It’s a series of resources that you can use to read, research, and stay up to date on the most explosive sector in the crypto world. If you eat, sleep, and breathe DePIN like we do, this is the place for you. And if you still aren’t quite convinced yet, let us attempt to persuade you.
Why DePIN Hub? And why now? Because we have never believed in this more. If there’s one takeaway from the Helium news, it’s that decentralized networks make the world a more fair and transparent place, and we can apply them to literally anything. When you remove extractive middle men from the infrastructure that defines our daily lives, prices drop, consumers choose, and the world changes. 🌍 🙂
And the most important part? We can all own a stake, and we can all get in early. ⏳
Here’s how:
If you cruise over to the DePIN Hub website, you’ll see a few tabs on the top: four ways to learn about 117 projects. Now, we’ll take a brief minute to walk you through those ways and you can start exploring on your own.🕵
News

By sorting by project and selecting Nosana, we find a news article published just a few weeks ago. Turns out Nosana has launched an incentivized test grid on December 1st. Exciting! Do you have an Nvidia GPU? Congratulations: you’ve just used DePIN Hub to find your first opportunity for passive income.
Projects

Under Projects , you'll find individual profiles for each of the 117 projects currently in the database. Again, you can search for anything that may catch your interest, or select a subcategory if you just want to track down new projects that fall under a certain heading.
Each profile has a handful of different components. Let’s use Hivemapper as an example.

Under the About section, you’ll find a detailed description of each project in the database - great for learning about new companies working in DePIN. In this case, Hivemapper is a network of dashcam devices that capture street-level images to map the world. Think of it as a decentralized Google Maps that outsources the imagery collection to users around the world, and rewards them in $HONEY for helping build and refresh the map.
To the right, you’ll see a Blog section, where we’ll be hosting blog posts written by the projects themselves. Here’s one of Hivemapper’s , for reference. As one of the fastest growing DePINs in the world, and based on the tear Hivemapper's HONEY token has been on lately, it's worth hearing what they have to say about their progress compared to other DePINs.
Finally, you see Newsletters, which is an archive of all the past issues of a project’s mailing list. And Explorer, where you can see maps, charts, and metrics for the project in question. This is particularly cool in Hivemapper’s case, so it’s worth checking out for yourself.
Rankings

The Rankings section is just that: a collection of rankings for different sortings of DePIN projects. You can see which chains boast the most projects being built, which categories have the highest market cap, or how individual projects stack up against one another in their social media followings. As time goes on, more and more projects will have active tokens issued, so we’ll shift to a more conventional table for viewing metrics like Market Cap ( MC) and Fully Diluted Value ( FDV).
For now, since many of these projects are still in their infancy, other proxy metrics can be used to detect traction, like their number of Discord members or Twitter followers. DePIN Hub provides these early-stage social metrics to help you find the next Helium Mobile long before they conquer an industry.
Blog

Finally, the DePIN Hub Blog . This is where you can find updates on the DePIN Hub ecosystem, copies of our newsletters, and especially for those less DePIN advanced, educational content to arm you on journey into DePIN. We'll also be publishing more alpha via guest content from DePIN thought leaders, so keep checking in.
Hopefully, DePIN Hub will arm you with the tools you need to discover some of the most promising projects building anything in the world today, and get involved in some of these networks. So go forth and prosper!

Streamr is a decentralized global network for the transmission of real time data. While live data feeds are ordinarily transmitted by centralized servers, Streamr offers a peer-to-peer network where node operators provide bandwidth in exchange for token rewards. It’s an encrypted way for builders to breathe life into their dApps with real-time data streams - without sacrificing decentralization.

Now, after five years of building, Streamr is in the process of deploying three testnets before their official launch in February. They’re offering incentives to anyone who acts as a delegator or node operator, so learn more about earning rewards and shaping the future web on their official blog.
Idea of the Week

ICYMI: Last Week's Podcast
For AI models to be trained, they need to parse through massive amounts of data to learn how humans speak and reason. This can be found on public websites, but how do they access those sites? 🤔
Grass is a new DePIN project that lets users sell their unused internet bandwidth to AI labs so they can use it to scrape data from the web. Just download the app and watch the rewards stack up: an effortless stake in the explosive growth of artificial intelligence. 🤖
Like what you’re hearing? Tune in over the next few weeks, where we’ll be featuring:
