In just seven weeks, Paris was redrawn.
Not by Google. Not by fleets of Waymo vans. But by a decentralized swarm of contributors — everyday people with ROVR devices on their cars.
The results led to 1,500 km of roads, 37,000 traffic signs, 50,000 road markings, and 200,000 lane markings captured and validated at over 90% accuracy.
And here’s the kicker: the dataset isn’t locked in a lab. You can already explore it at rovr.network/map.
That transparency is rare. It’s also why both ROVR and GEODNET earned Verified status on DePIN Hub.
When two Verified Projects team up — one capturing the maps, the other providing the centimeter-level GPS corrections — you know something real is actually happening here.
Why Paris matters

ROVR isn’t building a “demo.” It’s building a backbone. A mapping protocol where:

- LightCone ($2,499) delivers dense 3D scans for enterprise clients.
Already, 1,800+ TarantulaX devices are in the wild — and contributors are earning for their drives. Privacy is safeguarded with on-device blurring.
