Opportunity awaits in India
Today India has:
- a median age of 28;
- the world’s largest population;
- 41 cities with over 1M inhabitants.
but only 30 million fiber connections to cater to over 1.442 billion people. 🤯
To put this in perspective, China has 625 million connections for 1.425 billion people, while the US has 120 million for 330 million.
Tens of millions of micro-retailers, co-living spaces, and offices need stable broadband connectivity to carry out their daily functions. Mobile data has helped them get off zero, but now’s the time to bring stability to the backbone of India’s digital economy.
There’s a rush to build out broadband connectivity across the country. Yet, due to the complex nature of India’s rapid urbanization, it’s a logistical nightmare to get the underground infrastructure in place. 😰
Inspired by Google’s Loon project, Dabba aims to circumvent this challenge by creating laser-connected mesh network grids above urban rooftops. Unlike Google’s high-altitude approach, Dabba’s cost-effective design brings the lasers down to the apartment block level.
This strategy offers a cheap and quick method to roll out nationwide high-bandwidth connectivity. And it couldn’t be done without DePIN. 🤘
Dabba’s remote earning partnership
Dabba is leveraging a small army of local cable operators (LCOs) to help deploy and maintain this novel infrastructure. These professionals will be tasked with bringing fiber up to strategic buildings and calibrating laser transmitters throughout the city.
At the home, shop, and office levels, token-powered WiFi hotspots will provide connectivity to the end users. This is where YOU come into play. 🧑💻
Dabba’s unique model lets people around the world purchase hotspots and delegate the installation and maintenance to a Dabba-certified LCO of their choice. Remote hotspot owners receive $DBT token rewards for helping build out the Dabba Network, while LCOs get a share of the rewards for their local support. 🤝
The $DBT utility token will be used in a mint, buyback, and burn mechanism. Meanwhile, end-users wishing to use the hotspots locally will require Data Credits (DCs) to surf the internet. At $0.01 per GB, these DCs will offer Indian people access to exceptionally cheap data.
The mix of license-free laser connectivity with crowdfunded infrastructure and installation gives Dabba an enormous advantage over its competitors. This model can cut installation waiting times down from years to mere weeks! ⏩⏩⏩
How to participate in the Dabba Network
Dabba’s Season 2 Sale is currently live with 10,000 Dabba Lite hotspots selling for $199 apiece. Dabba has yet to launch their token on Solana, but pre-TGE rewards can be earned for participating in the testnet.
